WPI Interconnect announces the launch of a new division, WPI Fiber Optics, to produce standard and custom fiber optic assemblies. This division will provide consulting, engineering and assembly services to the commercial, industrial and military markets.
WPI, a leader in the interconnect market, has been providing quality interconnect products in diverse applications for the past 30 years. "Naming a fiber optic division within the WPI family is a natural progression of our capabilities," said Henry Barbera, CEO. "We have manufactured fiber optic assemblies for some of our customers/accounts for over five years. We recognized a need to expand resources in this area and offer this value-added service to all of our customers."
What makes WPI's Fiber Optic Division unique is its ability to offer standard and custom interconnect solutions, from single-fiber to multi-fiber designs; assistance with selection of cable and connector; small or large production runs; optical, mechanical and environmental testing services.
WPI's seven locations have highly skilled engineers and
trained technicians to provide fully integrated service that can lower design
and production costs. "We have invested in specialized training and
sophisticated testing equipment to ensure that we can provide a fiber optic
interconnect solution for several applications, including military, marine,
